I was watching a current affairs program on TV last evening. At the end of it, they announced that they will be having a political debate on their next show, between the parties standing in a bi-election here in Aotearoa/NZ.
It has caused a little controversy in that the Legalise Cannabis party has been excluded from the debate. The TV station has announced that this is because they only have room for the 4 biggest parties. The Legalise cannabis party have countered & are claiming that polls show them currently in 4th place.
One has to wonder, is this because the TV station are against giving air time to this issue ? OR is there something else driving their decision ??
I say in the spirit of fairness, they should include candidates standing from ALL the parties to give them a chance to state their points on view !
