I just watched a news item on an Int’l news network, that could have been labelled ‘legal injustice’.. child labourers in USA picking & processing TOBACCO. It was reported that children as young as 10 years are working in the fields. Legally they cannot purchase this ‘Drug’ until 18(?) but they are apparently, constantly inhaling the vapours from the leaves & the chemicals used in its production.
The report said there is a labour/employee rights group, calling for this practice to be banned & a minimum age of 18 be implemented, BUT the Govt. & the industry are apparently ignoring/avoiding these demands.
Talk about ‘DOUBLE-STANDARDS !’
