I have read a few news items from Australia, on Medicinal Cannabis law reform initiatives :
1) the state of New South Wales (NSW) is set to run clinical trials. This could then lead onto law reform to allow Medicinal use.
2) the Tasmanian state Govt. has rejected calls for Med-use law reforms. Their upper house committee issued a report with six recommendations (inc. protecting people who use cannabis for medicinal purpose & others who assist sufferers)
I also read about a couple of families who are having to break current laws & access illegal ‘marijuana’ in order to treat children with seizures (other pharmaceuticals are failing to do this effectively) including one girl who was having epileptic seizures every 5-8 seconds… now almost completely stopped !
Again it seems that irrational fears are stopping these families from getting this drug, to treat their sick children.
Here in Aotearoa/NZ it is still not even being publically/politically discussed… the Minister said he was watching overseas issues/developments (ie just sitting on the fence)
