Mexico moves to change

I just watched a brief news item on Al Jazeera.. there appears to be increasing pressure to now, ‘relax the laws’ around cannabis in Mexico.

Mexico’s economy is reportedly dominated by the drug cartels, who grow & supply huge quantities of the drug, mostly crossing the border into USA. It has been pressure from their northern neighbour, that has to date maintained an almost ‘zero-tolerance’ approach. BUT in light of recent changes to USA state laws, allowing the drug to be legalised for medicinal use in 23 states & recreational use in 4-5 states.. that has made this approach, almost farcical.

The report showed green-houses & covered fields in Mexico, with cannabis plants thriving. đŸ™‚

Hopefully this will be another ‘nail in the coffin’ of the WAR on DRUGS ?

addendum: I see in an update.. the Supreme Court of Mexico City has approved a ‘Cannabis smoking Club’. The report mentions that, the presiding judge said ‘stopping personal use is actually unconstitutional !
