I read that a medicinal cannabis patient, has used a loophole in the current NZ drug laws to bring ‘raw herb’ into the country (on prescription) from Hawaii. Her lawyer found the loophole & used it to get her discharged without conviction, for bringing chocolate bars (containing cannabis extracts) into Aotearoa/NZ, earlier this year. She has now, again used ‘section 8’ of the Misuse of drugs act 1975 (MODA 75), to bring in several ounces of the drug.. for treating her condition.
The report makes this point:
“(the ‘patient’) breezes through Auckland Airport customs on 19 August 2016 with several ounces of medicinal cannabis and concentrates prescribed to her in Hawaii,”
This is being seen as a huge step forward, in allowing Medicinal use to go ahead ! 🙂
