Federal v state

I heard on a USA radio program that the new USA vice-Pres. is making serious noises, like; Federal drug laws outrank state laws & Federal should be enforced ?

They mentioned the 28 states that currently allow doctors to prescribe cannabis for a very broad range of illness/conditions. Also the 8(?) states that currently allow recreational use in varying forms. Could it be that their short/sharp ‘flirt’ with regulation is about to come to a halt.. sometime soon ? I personally hope not, because of the old saying ‘when USA sneezes, the world gets a cold’ (inc. Aotearoa/NZ very minor advances)

SO; to my whanau in North America (esp.: Colorado, Washington, Hawaii, Alaska etc. etc. etc.), i say “Dont let the ‘Taniwhas’ (monsters/bastards) grind you down”

  1. In the U.S., the individual states should make their own drug laws. Not have uniform prohibition or uniform legalization.

Kia ora Jeff, Thx for your comments. Yes I know that USA has separate state laws. Here in Aotearoa/NZ we have local city/regional council bylaws, but it only covers things like roads, sewerage & garbage.. not Drugs reform. Unfortunately that is at the national (federal) level. The only way we can get some change is, a change of Govt. on 23/9/17 (fingers crossed)

  2. Zedd, I do not advocate drug use personally, however, what someone puts into his or her body is nobody’s business.
